Satyajit Ray (Shottojit Rae (help·info)) (2 May 1921–23 April 1992) was a Bengali Indian movie director.
Many people consider him as one of the greatest film-makers of 20th century movie business.[1] He was born in the city of Kolkata. His Bengali family was prominent in arts and letters. Ray studied at Presidency College and at the Visva-Bharati University.
