She married Rolf Harris in March 1958, after the couple had met at art school. The sculptor grew up in Wales and is known for her eccentric clothing, as well as her decision to have a poodle as her bridesmaid.
Alwen stood by her disgraced husband during the trial and her subsequent jail sentence.
Harris was convicted of 12 sexual assaults on girls as young as seven and received a jail sentence of just under six years.
