BIO - RESUME

I was born in a TV studio and grew up in film sets. My favorite childhood smell is that of dust burning off the back of overworked tape decks on studio racks. Our home movies were shot with a Bolex, recorded with a Nagra and cut on a Moviola; so we were taught visual composition and editing theory, like it or not, while still in diapers.

At a young age i was put on a heavy schedule of foreign languages instruction; the only way to be able to secretly read the books that were not allowed to be translated in communist Albania (e.g, Asimov, Clarke, Tolkien, etc).

Around 5th grade i was a childhood actor,... which explains the teenage years.

Sought then to fight the legacy and studied letters instead; started a poetry group and a socio-political newspaper. Translated Herman Hesse's Siddhartha" into albanian. Was a guide through the war in Kosovo for Washington Post and Philadelphia Inquirer.
