Santha Devi Biography

Santha Devi was a veteran theater and film artist from Kerala, known for supporting and character roles. She was one of the most experienced artists of Kerala theatre and cinema who has spent more than 60 years in the industry.

She acted in about 500 movies and more than 1000 plays and widely regarded as one of the greatest Malayalam artists.  Kerala Café (2009), the anthology film produced by director Ranjith was her last movie, where she played the role of a lonely lady left by her family.

Santha Devi was born in Kozhikode in 1927 as the daughter of Thottathil Kannakkuruppu and Karthiyayani Amma.
